After sketching in the open air they researched landscape artists and were introduced to a range of techniques such as card relief, collage, wet on wet painting and finally clay relief. Year 9 high achievers in art have been introduced to the process of using ‘gallery sheets’ to gather visual information in response to an exhibition. In this case it was a display on animal welfare issues which they contributed to themselves. The students have made small sculptural responses, maquettes, which have led to bigger sculptures. [...]
