The climax to the Shakespeare Link residency has hit the stage. Already they have done one performance to Yr9, who will be studying 'The Tempest' for their SATs next year. The Btec 1st Diploma group went to Llanwrthwl in Powys to perform their adaptation of stories by Oscar Wilde. The dancers are excited about the prospect of rehearsing and preparing for a performance in conjunction with Hampshire Youth Orchestra. They are to present a section from 'Firebird' by Stravinsky. The performance will be at The Anvil in Basingstoke in January.
The main hall was packed out at the conclusion of a day of music which saw students from our feeder primary schools coming together for a day of music activities. Climaxing in a choral adaptation of 'The Selfish Giant'. There were also items of orchestral music and a performance of junk percussion.
