Grease – Musical Auditions

A local musical theatre group, Andover Musical Theatre Company Starlights, are holding auditions for their youth production of Grease the Musical.

The auditions are Sunday 22nd April at Rookwood School and registration details will be posted shortly on www.andovermusicaltheatre.co.uk/starlights and the AMTC Starlights Facebook page. Auditionees need to be aged 11-17 and available for rehearsals on Saturday mornings and the evenings of show week 30th July – 4th August. More information can be found here.

Hampshire Cultural Trust – What’s On Spring 2018

This Spring the Hampshire Cultural Trust (HCT) have lots of fun things going on all across Hampshire, for all ages and many of which are free. The last few weeks of the LEGO exhibition at Milestones Museum brings Greek Mythology to life for children of all ages, and also in Basingstoke, our outdoor venue Basing House has a Civil War re-enactment event over Easter weekend. There are loads of activities going on in the arts centres and museums too. As well as bookable workshops, most venues have free children’s make-and-takes and trails during the Easter break which you don’t have to book, just drop in. Please see this leaflet for details.

Wanting a Career, Working with Young Children?

Peter Symonds College Adult and Higher Education are running a full time pathway course, for those aged 16 – 18 who are working or volunteering in an early years setting. There is an Open Evening event taking place on the 28th March, 4.30pm – 7.00pm.

The course is a Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Year Educator). The Early Years Educator is a full-time course that is equivalent to 3 A-Levels. This qualification prepares you to work unsupervised, or in a supervised capacity, with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the sector of children’s services.

Hampshire Cultural Trust – Winter Activities

The Hampshire Cultural Trust have lots of fun things going on all across Hampshire this Winter, for all ages and many of which are free.

The LEGO exhibition at Milestones Museum, Basingstoke brings Greek Mythology to life for children of all ages, our arts centres across the county have a vast programme of special events as part of their “Children’s Festival 2018” and there are loads of half term activities going on in the museums too. Most venues also have free children’s make-and-takes and trails during the half term week, which you don’t have to book, just drop in. Please see this leaflet for details.

AMTC Starlights- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Over the Summer, we are pleased to announce that several of our students will be appearing in Andover Musical Theatre Company’s Youth Group (Starlights) production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at The Lights Theatre on 23rd-26th August.

Family Fun this Summer

This summer there are lots of fun things going on all across Hampshire, for all ages and many of which are free. Jane Austen exhibitions and events bringing history to life, and loads of summer activities too, plus most venues have free drop in children’s make and takes, trails, etc. Please see attached flyer from the Hampshire Cultural Trust for details.

BCoT – Apprenticeship Open Evening

Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) have their final Open Evening of this academic year on Monday 19th June, 4.00pm – 7.30pm.

This Open Evening will be a great chance for students of all ages to come have a look at the college and find out more about an Apprenticeship. They offer Apprenticeships in a range of subjects including engineering, construction, plumbing, hair and beauty, creative and digital media and many more! More information can be found here.

Wild Woods Fun Day – Harmony Woods

Parent and Carer Workshops – 15th June

CAMHS in Hampshire will be running a parent and carer event on June 15th at Princes Hall Aldershot. Please see attached a flyer and a draft agenda of the workshops that will be running. There will also be a significant number of information stands providing specialist information and advice from a wide variety of organisations.
