Careers Fair 004Year 11 students at Harrow Way Community School had a little taste of what the future could hold for them recently. The 2011 Careers Fair, which saw all the local colleges, all three of the Armed Forces plus a number of local employers attending,Careers Fair 013 aims to get the 15 and 16 year olds focusing their thoughts on their future education and career choices.

Prior to the event the students were required to consider their future and where their interests lay. This forethought and planning then enabled them to optimise their time with the experts at their Fair to ensure they are best prepared to take the right steps in achieving either their future learning and training goals or commencing their working careers.

Careers Fair 007Tony Parsons, Deputy Headteacher and organiser of the Careers Fair said: “Although post 16 these students will have flown the Harrow Way nest we still need to ensure that they are best equipped to make some sound choices with regard to their future. We start the process in Year 10 with Careers classes which, coupled with exposure to the local colleges, employers and Armed Forces at events such as this Careers Fair, will help the students start to identify their goals and formulate plans required to achieve them.”
