With nearly forty Key Stage 3 students taking part, Miss Sturges and Mrs Vant (Harrow Way and John Hanson School Sports Coordinators) challenged the leaders to decide how they would organise the competition. And this they did!
Eight teams in two pools. All four teams in the pool to play each other. Teams that were not playing were the officials: timekeeping, scoring and refereeing. The pool games were exciting with four players from each team playing at a time. Excellent officiating from Harrow Way students – Jake Baugh stood out with his clear decision making. Well done Jake!
Brendan and Chelsey (Harrow Way Year 9 students who are working towards their Level 1 Sports Leaders UK qualification through the Leadership Academy), organised how the final matches would be played. Well done to them!
By the end of the competition, Harrow Way were challenging for both ends of the table. The wooden spoon for one team, with the other team in the final. Harrow Way just missed out on winning the competition by a ‘golden basket’. Well done to John Hanson for the winning shot!
Well done to all the Harrow Way students who contributed to a very enjoyable afternoon – you were a pleasure to be with.
