Tuesday 3rd November
This afternoon we saw 20 Year 7 and 8 students represent Harrow Way at the District Cross Country Championships held at Winton school. After a walk round the course and a rather long wait, the four competitions took place for year 7 girls, year 7 boys, year 8 girls and year 8 boys. The competitions ranged from 2 and 3 laps of the school grounds; a much greater distance than some of our students have ever run before!
Competing against Winton, Rookwood, Test Valley and Mountbatten, our Year 7s were particularly successful, with a first and second place for the boys by Harry Fitzpatrick and Connor Durbridge. The girls performed equally well, with Emma Jones winning the race and Kiera Hill coming third.
The Year 8s did not disappoint either, with Holly Eaton gaining a solid 4th place for the girls and Josh Cornwall being placed 5th for the boys.
All of those mentioned will progress to the next round, as may some of our other finishers.
