DSC00936Robbie Skeates, Tom Parkinson, Greg Vince, Sam Catton, Kieron Godwin, Joe Smith, Adam Whitmarsh and Dean Evans all arrived bright and early at Andover Cricket Ground yesterday morning. The reason?  Following an evening’s training the night before, they were to spend all day as Kwik Cricket umpires for the Andover Town and Rural Annual Primary Kwik Cricket Competition. With twelve pitches to manage and 27 teams to umpire, they had a hard day ahead of them!

DSC00938All eight worked very hard and impressed the local primary teachers. Signalling fours, sixes, wides and no balls clearly, they were also well respected by all the young players. Robbie Skeates deserves a special mention as he was selected by the organiser, Neil Brewer, to umpire the Town Schools final. Well done Robbie!

The umpires are now looking forward to supporting Miss Sturges on Monday afternoon at the first ever Girls’ Kwik Cricket Festival, to be hosted here at Harrow Way School.

Thank you to all of them; they were a credit to themselves and Harrow Way!
