In support of the Lands End to John O’Groats 2009 charity ride.
Back in March students and staff at Harrow Way Community School were each being given 1 pence as a means to raise awareness and funds for The Countess of Brecknock Hospice and The British Heart Foundation.
As part of their Lands End to John O’Groats 2009 challenge Mr Jay Mann and Jonathan Land ‘sewed’ 1p into the hands of students and colleagues, encouraging them to make it grow into a larger amount. Individuals were invited to use their initiative to turn their penny into pence or pounds. £650 was raised.
