Tri Golf Fun at Portway Infants

March 12th, 2009

DSC00314Seven of our Year 10 Sports Leaders led a fantastic fun-filled tri golf session at a sunny Portway Infant School on Wednesday 11th March. Jamie Healy and George Argyrou started the session with ‘Tiger Says’ – the Year 2 quickly enjoyed learning some golf terminology: green, tee, water and sand! Katie Woolf then took over and the class was organised safely into groups to play some putting and chipping games. Lisa Phillimore demonstrated how to hold the club and hit the ball – ‘tick tock’! Then all twenty five children set about working hard with their leaders to try and win the games. Sophie Attmere supported the left handers well and Sarah Hartley encouraged her group at all times. Harry Crockford observed well – he will be leading the session at Knights Enham Infants with the rest of the Sports Leaders soon!

Svend Hunter, on work experience from Enham, was on hand to observe and enjoy the sunshine as well. He agreed that all the students had led the session and their groups well.

Congratulations to the Sports Leaders who represented Harrow Way School extremely well – they encouraged sportsmanship at all times and supported the young people through praise and encouragement. They were a credit to themsleves and proved that they are ready to pass the course. Well done!
