The first Activity Session for the Aiming High Project will be on Tuesday 10th February 2009 at Tile Barn Centre in the New Forest.

We will be leaving school by minibus at 8.00 am and will return to school at 5.30 pm. Please can you arrange for your child to be at school earlier that day and to collect from school 5.30 pm.

The Activity Session will be a low ropes course (based around team-building) and will be followed by mountain biking in the afternoon.

WHAT TO BRING:

As we will be outside all day, it is important that your child wears plenty of warm clothes. Your child will need to wear tracksuit bottoms, a sweatshirt and a raincoat, these should be preferably old clothes which you will not mind getting dirty and wet, a hat and a pair of gloves is also advisable.

Students must bring a change of clothes with them, as we may get wet and dirty. Please provide them with a black bin bag for them to use for dirty laundry. In extreme weather, waterproofs will be provided by the Centre.

A packed lunch is required, and this is a Healthy Eating Project so please NO sweets, crisps, fizzy drinks etc, as these will be confiscated and given back at the end of the trip. We suggest fruit, cereal bars, pasta and/or sandwiches are more than adequate, with a bottle of water to drink.

Mobile phones, MP3 players, CD players, and Walkmans are not permitted on this trip.

If your child needs to take medication (e.g. asthma inhaler etc) please could you put this into a clearly marked envelope for them to give to the teacher on the day.

Thank you for your co-operation. We are confident your child will benefit from this valuable learning experience.
