1. Read the question carefully.
  2. Be clear in your mind of the purpose in writing.
  3. Be clear in your mind about the audience you are writing for.
  4. Plan what you are going to include.
  5. Plan how you are going to structure it.
  6. Think about the particular presentation techniques you are going to use, such as bullet points, headings, sub-headings and questions.
  7. Use language that is appropriate to your target audience.
  8. Keep the text simple and to the point.
