Harrow Way’s U16 football team fought hard with and understrength squad of 10 against Henry Beaufort on Tuesday evening.

A talented squad, the girls attacked well, with a number of chances falling to Sky, Anita and Megan in the first half.

However, Henry Beaufort managed to break the defence with a high ball and a some fast strikers, scoring twice in the early minutes. Harrow Way fought back, with the defence of Amelia, Lucy, Paige and Chloe tightening up on their forward line, linking well with Shannon and Katie in midfield to bring the ball out of defence. Unfortunately, a further 2 goals put us 4-0 down at half time. Harrow Way were by no means defeated and were the first to score in the second half with a fine shot by Sky. Lucy came close to adding to the tally, only to be saved by an on-form keeper. Keeper Ruby put in some excellent save also. However, with tiring legs, Harrow Way conceded in the final few minutes but should be proud of an excellent performance, not fairly represented with a 1-5 scoreline.
