After our memorable hike up mount Vesuvius we began to venture down to the busy city below the summit, the ash stricken town of Pompei, filled with curious tourists we were soon to join. The more we learned about the city the more we felt like we were the locals many years ago, completely shocked with the sight of the frozen people and the ash stained walls. Looking through the old town, viewing the ruins of the houses in the streets, created so many opportunities to take eye catching photographs. During the walks through the streets the students including myself saw many buildings with construction work, this is to try and save the buildings and keep them in a good condition. However, some of us thought that they should just leave the buildings to naturally erode away, this then may make the city look nicer instead of having metal poles supporting them.
