IMG_2814Tuesday 6th May was an exciting day on the Tri Golf calendar. An Inset day and, as usual, Harrow Way students are more than happy to support our primary competitions by giving up their day off, 23 in total!

With the games set up, and the final practice having taken place, ten Year 2 teams from Kimpton and Portway Infants arrived, keen and excited. Tia expertly ran the whole event, supported by Lauren on the score board, Grace and Madison as officials and ten leaders supporting their Year 2 teams through leadership and scoring. After an excellent competition, Kimpton were the eventual winners, lifting the trophy yet again.

Pictures can be seen here.

With the Year 2s safely departed, all armed with a certificate to commemorate their morning, there was just time for some lunch before the leaders had to set up for the Year 3 and 4 event. A more challenging event to run, with different stations and with over 80 children in 14 teams, but the leaders knew they had the skills to do it!

After efficient and expert setting up of the seven activities and with leadership and scoring checked, the leaders were yet again ready early to welcome our guests from Endeavour Primary, Knights Enham Junior, Portway Junior and Kimpton. A full and active afternoon followed, with Britney manning the score table, Emma photographing and Grace and Tia timekeeping. Jade, Eliza and Emily supported the Portway teams and Alice supported Endeavour, whilst the remaining 15 leaders are to be hugely congratulated on leading and scoring at their stations. Not an easy job but they managed to keep their skill, enthusiasm and energy going right until the end. Final presentations were made to all the teams, with Portway5 eventually being awarded the winners’ medals.

Well done and thank you to the Harrow Way leaders from Year 9 and the Leadership Academy for making ‘Tri Golf Tuesday’ a day to remember for all of the young children!
