June 19th, 2013

Students at Harrow Way School have proved they are amongst the best in the district with a fantastic season of track and field athletics to look back on. No fewer than 26 students have qualified to represent Andover District Schools at the County Athletics Championships this season, a record number of qualifiers! With the London 2012 Olympics firmly in our memories, this is proof that the ‘legacy’ left behind by the Games has had a profound impact on the athletes of Harrow Way.

The following students received county honours on the track this year:

Callum Woods – 300m, Brandon Smith – triple jump, Stanley North – shot putt, Rebecca Ash – 100m, Martina Krawcznska – shot putt, Hannah Almark – long jump, Kieran Nicholls – discus, Holly Eaton – 100m & 200m, Emma Jones – 300m & 800m, Elle Campbell – 1500m, Emma Helsdown – javelin, Connor Cousins – 600m, Jake McGowan – shot putt & 200m, Tommy Willard – 200m, Matthew Cooper – discus, Louisa Jones – 600m, Jessica Pinchbeck – javelin, Georgina Butler – 80m & shot putt, Tanya Hethershaw – shot putt, Joshua Ingram – shot putt, Oliver Cox – triple jump, Joseph Joy – discus, Connor Harvey – javelin, David Craggs – 1500m, Mica Harris – discus, Ella Taylor – shot putt.
