As part of a Sky Sports Living for Sport project, a Year 8 group have been lucky enough to have Peter Waterfield, Olympic diver, as their athlete mentor. Pete joined the group for the first of his visits this Thursday. He was inspirational in the answers to many excellent questions and encouraged the students to always believe they can do something if they try hard. As part of the project the Year 8s will be working with Giles Davis to achieve their Level 1 climbing award in which they will have to use the six ‘keys to success’ to the full. They are also looking forward to Pete’s next visit when they will spend a whole day with him, even teaching him how to climb up the wall!

Pete was also able to spend a session in the library with a Year 7 group, the Harrow Way Leadership Academy and Year 10 and 11 students who are talented in their particular sport. In addition to answering many more questions, he showed the group his medals, posed for many photographs and signed many autographs!

Harrow Way is very proud to have Peter Waterfield as their athlete mentor – he definitely has many new fans!
