Harrow Way 33 – Winton 7
There was no comparison between the two sides that took to the pitch for this game of rounders. Harrow Way were a well drilled, disciplined team and the score line reflects this.
HW lost the toss and battled first setting a bench mark of 17 ½ for Winton to catch. Most of the HW team were able to get on the score sheet and help the score along. When it came to HW’s turn to field they completely dominated; slick fielding and good placement of fielders allowed HW to confine Winton to just 4 ½.
Throughout the second innings, HW again scored well with a total of 15 ½ and fielded even better, restricting Winton to a mere 2 ½.
This team has continued to improve all season and Kelly Butler and Lili McLean are both impressive with their aggressive running between bases, placing the opposing fielders under pressure. Ellie Roche had a great game on the first base stumping many out as Annie Brookes continually bowled, so Winton could not hit the ball away. Special mention must go to Year 7’s Emma Helsdown who stepped into play due to the unavailability of a Year 9 player. She did not look out of place at all and played as well as any Year 9.
Well done, another impressive match!
