Michelle Thomas from the School Library Service visited Harrow Way School library on Monday to launch The Hampshire Book Awards. This year, eleven students from year 8 have been chosen to make up the school’s panel of judges.
These students have been asked to:
- Read ALL six novels on the shortlist by mid June 2008
- Attend fortnightly in-school discussion meetings
- Participate in regional voting
- Be prepared to talk about the books on the shortlist with other students.
On 20th June two students will visit Winchester Rugby Club for the final vote and the winning author will be announced. At a later date all students will then get the chance to meet the author at a prize-giving ceremony at Winchester Guildhall.
