A rather different looking Harrow Way team played against Testbourne on Wednesday 5 March.  Lydia Moulding had a prior engagement to go and watch Chelsea in the European Championship at Stamford Bridge (she can’t help who she supports), so Ellie Platt made her debut for the team.  Ellie Roche was also unavailable.

Ellie settled into the team really quickly, scoring straight away with an awesome shot from the edge of the circle. Fantastic to watch!  Ellie was ably supported by Anna-Leigh Brookes and they kept the score ticking along quite nicely.

Jess Wilson changed from her usual position at wing attack to centre and worked tirelessly to put in some defence splitting passes into the shooting circle.  Kyroz Van Patten replaced Jess at wing attack and did a sterling job of keeping the attacking moves going.  Abby Portsmouth is improving with every game at wing defence as her knowledge of her new position improves.
Ella Howells and Bethany Collyer-Smith rarely looked troubled in defence.

It is pleasing to have such strength and depth in the squad and the future certainly looks right for this squad if they continue to improve.

The squad:  Anna-Leigh Brookes (capt), Ellie Platt, Kyroz Van Paaten, Jess Wilson, Abby Portsmouth, Ella Howells, Bethany Collyer-Smith. Reserve – Shannon Fryer, who did not play but provided very good support to her team.  Thank you, Shannon.
