A team of year 7 & 8 girls travelled to Chandlers Ford to play against Thorndon School.  This match was the next round of the Schools’ Sports Partnership Competition.  Both teams being champions won their own Partnership competition back in December ’07.

Harrow Way were slow to get points on the board and started very nervously;  perhaps being a little intimidated by the taller girls from Thorndon and playing at an unfamiliar venue on an away court.

However, as the match progressed the team’s confidence grew and the girls started to score points, although not enough, as Thorndon were the eventual winners – 24 points to 12

Our team battled hard with Amelia Carter producing some excellent defending.  She was exhausted at the end with the huge amount of court space that she covered.  Anna Bazzoni was impressive with her control of the pace and passing moves.  Ella Howells defended really well and made some good rebounds and Lydia Moulding made some good, fast breaks in attack.

As usual the girls represented the school well with their good sporting attitude and behaviour.
The team was supported by Cathy Murray who, despite being injured, came to watch and cheer on her team.
