Mr Woods has become the first casualty of the LeJog cycle ride. He sustained an horrific graze to his left knee in a high speed crash on Saturday 3rd Feb.
As he and Jon Land were rounding a 90 degree bend Mr Woods attempted a daring passing manoeuvre. However his inexperience showed as he did not take into account the treacherous road conditions and the slickness of his racing tyres. The bike slid out from underneath him and he was sent slamming into the tarmac. If it were not for the fact that he was bundled up against the cold, with two pairs of trousers, cycle jacket, gloves and the all important cycle helmet, then he could have sustained much more serious injuries. Luckily there were no cars about either.
Seriously kids… wear a helmet!
