On Tuesday we held our last assembly with our outgoing wonderful year 11 students after their Maths examination. The time had come to say a heartfelt goodbye and good luck. Mr Carter and the Year 11 tutor team put together a fantastic show and helped Year 11 to walk down memory lane, revisiting all the wonderful times that we have had together at Harrow Way. Goodbye messages from their tutors and other members of staff were played, while students enjoyed a Harrow Way cup-cake. A video was also made which asked Harrow Way staff 'What did they want to be when they were older?', at the age of 16. This video can be viewed here.
The celebrations were topped off with a biodegradable balloon launch to mark their final day, where all of the students will be in school at the same time. (all materials used can fully biodegrade in the same time as it takes an oak leaf to biodegrade!). There were plenty of smiling faces and lots of laughter. We released a balloon for Alice too. At the moment London is the furthest a balloon has reached but we are hoping for further. It was an emotional week, combined with much excitement, some sadness and probably also nerves as to what lies ahead for our students. We are so proud of Year 11 and want to thank them for their hard work this year. We wish them well in their remaining GCSE exams and look forward to celebrating at the Prom on Friday 23rd June and also on Results Day on Thursday 24th August. You will be missed!
We have enjoyed viewing the final work our Year 11 Art students have produced. Some pictures are here with more to follow.

Calshot
Our Year 8 students have enjoyed really good weather this week at Calshot and have had an amazing time experiencing activities on land and water. Some images can be viewed on twitter.
A handful of Year 9's also visited the Hampshire Court Hotel for a STEM Event targeting able students. The day promoted the use of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in industry. Images can also be viewed on Twitter.
Year 7 Year Leader Handover
Miss Escritt will officially hand over responsibility for Year 7 students from Monday 26th June to Mr Carter, who will take them all the way through to Year 11.
Uniform change
We are changing the way we sell uniform. With immediate effect, all items of clothing are available from our suppliers Stitch a Logo. We will continue to make items available at school until stocks are exhausted.
We have also made changes to the uniform for next year. Our PE kit has been revamped and extended. We have also introduced school trousers and skirts. Please note that this change will be introduced for the new Year 7's in September onwards. Current students will continue with their usual uniform requirements and expectations.
Years 7-10 will also have the opportunity to practice their exam technique soon. End of term exams start on Monday 19th June. Students have already had a study skills session and parents have been sent links to the material and also the exam timetable for their child. These are available to view on the Letters Home Page.
