Welcome to the new school year to you all. We have had a fantastic first week back at school with smartly dressed students, helping to create a really positive atmosphere around the school. I was delighted to see everyone back on Monday and to welcome our new Year 7's in particular last week. What a lovely bunch they seem to be and there were plenty of good manners and smiley faces on show from the outset; as one member of staff emphasised, 'You only get one chance to create a good first impression' and that they have done in some style. Mums and dads, you should be very proud. Inevitably, there has been the odd over-sized blazer, wrong-turning, lost pencil case etc, but hey, it matters not in the grand scheme of things. I have to say, I think our team of Year 7 tutors have been outstanding this week, under the watchful eye of Mr Reed, Miss Escritt and Mrs Woods. Keep up the good work Year 7!

Parliamentary Review

On Tuesday evening Miss Lowing and I joined leading figures in the education sector at a gala evening to mark the official launch of the 2019 Parliamentary Review. The prestigious event was held at Mansion House, the private residence of the Lord Mayor of London, and celebrated the highly regarded publication which features Harrow Way as one of only a select number of secondary schools from the South East chosen to appear in the publication. You can read the article here.
Year 11 Information Evening
Thank you to all our Year 11 parents who attended the information evening yesterday evening; it was a magnificent turnout and we were pleased to welcome our local further education colleges. Year 11 parents can see the presentation slides here.
Year 7 Information Evening
Year 7 parents are invited to an Information Evening at 6.00pm on Thursday 19th September in the Auditorium. We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible.
Non-Uniform Day - Friday 20th September
We will be holding a non-uniform day on Friday 20th September to support Genes for Jeans Day. Students can bring in £1 on Friday and wear their jeans. This year we've chosen Zellweger UK as a charity that will receive 50% of all total funds raised. Zellweger Spectrum Disorder (ZSD) is a genetic disorder that is so rare the condition affects only 1 in 50,000 children. You can find our more information about the charity here.
