Headteacher Welcome and Introduction

Coming soon…

New Intake Information

The time has come to welcome your child to Harrow Way and to give you a little more information about forthcoming arrangements to ensure a successful transition. With students coming from many different schools this year, we are busy planning our visits to the main feeders and looking at options for easing the transition for students.

Year 6 Transition Arrangements

Following the Government announcement on 14th June 2021, our usual transition procedures will not able to take place. We have contacted all our linked primary schools and will liaise closely with them. We are looking carefully at how to manage an “alternative” transition programme, including a virtual tour of our school and a webinar for parents.

To ensure that transition to our school is as smooth as possible, please read our Welcome Booklet. New parents will receive our weekly E-News Bulletin and we will send vital updates via email.

If your child has Special Educational Needs and you have particular questions about the support on offer in September, our SENCO, Mrs Emma Law, will be holding an online virtual parents meeting on 13th July between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm.  Please email her at for more details.

Other Information

All uniform for September Year 7 Intake is available from Stitch-a-Logo

Uniform ordering cut off for the start of September is 14th August 2021.

Stitch-a-Logo are advising all parents/guardians that if they need to change a garment they leave all the labels on and contact Stitch-a-Logo for replacement items. They will then be contacted when it is ready for collection and carry out the exchange. This facility will not be available if parents just turn up.

Stitch-a-Logo have made the decision that this year they will be open on the following Saturdays throughout the summer holidays from 9-4, Saturday 14th August, Saturday 21st August and Saturday 4th September. This will be in addition to their normal hours of Monday to Friday 9-5.

Please note:

  • Social distancing will be in place.
  • Click and collect will be over the table at the shop entrance with Perspex shielding in place.
  • Standalone rail for returned items, which will be steamed prior to being put back into stock.
  • If they are able to reopen the shop, only one family/customer will be allowed in at any one time and the changing room will remain closed.

Year 7 Projects

Asha and the Spirit Bird – Year 6/7 Literacy Transition Project and Curriculum

Every year 6 student joining Harrow Way receives a copy of ‘Asha and the Spirit Bird’ by Jasbinder Bilan. This will be handed out on the first day of term in September. The aim is for all students to read the book and promote literacy across the curriculum. Work will be carried out in most subject areas in the Autumn term linked to the book.
