Music Christmas Concert 2011

The school orchestra which includes students from all year groups and staff, started the evening. There were also performances from the school choir, under instruction from Mr Blake, and the Guitar club who have been under tuition from Mr Robinson. New to this years concert was a brass section from students and staff. Soloists from the evening were Catherine Upfold (Violin), Lauren Gibbs (Cornet) and Abbie Portsmouth (Flute).
School Orchestra play at Hatherden

The orchestra played some classic Christmas songs to the primary school students. If you would like to see the school orchestra, they will be performing along side the school choir and guitar club on Wednesday 14th December at 7.30pm at the School’s Christmas Music Concert.
Music Showcase Concert July 2011

It was a fully packed evening with performances from the Btec Music students, the school band, the school choir and from students who receive guitar tuition. There was also a flute solo from Abbie Portsmouth and singing solo from Georgie Wheldon. For a gallery of pictures click here.
The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe

The show is a collaberation of the year 11 Creative and Media Diploma group, year 10 and 11 Btec Drama groups, year 10 Btec Music class, year 11 Btec Dance class and Key Stage 3 drama group. Music Department Christmas Concert

The concert was the biggest yet, with music from the School Orchestra, School Choir and Harrow Way Guitar Club. There were also pieces from a brass section and string section.
Year 10 BTEC Music added their own twist to Christmas songs and Year 11 BTEC played covers of well known songs. The audience were asked to join in and follow words on the screen for two traditional carols.

Mayday Rocks!

Pictures from the Mayday Rocks concert held at Harrow Way on the 1st May are now in the Photo Gallery. Headlineing was a local band called Sion with support from Mostly Harmless and Year 11 Btec Music bands.

Sion will be performing live at Harrow Way on the 1st May at 7.30pm to celebrate the release of their second single, ‘Not With Experience’, which is released for sale on May 18th.
Doors will open at 7.10pm and admission is £5. Tickets can be purchased at break and lunchtime from Reception from Yr11 Btec music students. Sion will be supported by Mostly Harmless & Yr11 BTEC Music Bands.

Yr10 BTEC Bring Down Curtain on Christmas Season

They were the final performances of a busy period for the performing arts departments which had seen over two hundred students on show during the dance competition, the dance showcase and the music concert.
