Dance
Welcome to the Dance Department
GCSE Dance was introduced in 2001 to meet the needs of the more creative students. This course gives the students the opportunity to create and perform their own dance work, as well as focusing on the aesthetic appreciation of professional dance. Frequent trips to shows are organised and regular dance workshops are run throughout the course.

Harrow Way Goes Gold
June 28, 2007 on 10:41 pm | In Art & Design, Dance, Dance Steps, Drama Matters, Music Notes, Performing Arts | Comments Off
Harrow Way School has been awarded the highest honour available to schools delivering an Arts Curriculum by the Arts Council of Great Britain. After a lengthy application process and a thorough assessment period we have been granted a Gold Arts Mark. Arts Mark is the standard by which the Arts Council judge the quality of Arts Teaching in schools. There are three levels: Arts Mark, Arts Mark Silver and Arts Mark Gold. The Art, Dance, Drama and Music departments worked very hard during the autumn term to complete a lengthy and in depth application form. Then we were visited by Mrs Anne French, an assessor from the Arts Council who put us through a rigorous investigation process before the final confirmation of our award arrived a month ago. Since then we have been waiting for the formal presentation to be made before we could announce our success to the world. On Wednesday 27th June, Mr Baxter, took, Head Girl, Kayleigh Parker, and Deputy Head Boy, Matt Burgess to Horsham in Sussex, where they were presented with our certificate by the poet and author John Agar. Everyone is absolutely delighted with this award which confirms the quality of the Arts work carried out at Harrow Way.
Dance Festival Success

They completely won over the audience with the show and can be thoroughly proud of what they have achieved. Unfortunately there were no pictures taken of the event so for a gallery of pictures of the performance at The Anvil follow the link below.
