Community Education is continuing education with age and any disability no bar.

Our community education provision delivers programmes to broadly support extended services and partnership working, adult and family learning, information and advice, youth work, activities for children, pre-school education and facilities for community groups and individuals to hire for the purposes of arts, sport, support and social events.

We undertake to offer you:

  • a warm welcome
  • care and consideration handling your enquiries
  • information and guidance to help you choose and enrol on an appropriate course
  • a commitment to evaluate
  • a complaints procedure which is available upon request

Our adult and family learning staff team, who secure Harrow Way as a centre of life-long learning within the Andover area, work in partnership with a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies including, health, children’s services and housing associations.

We are particularly proud of our family learning provision, which was externally evaluated in December 2003 as a model of good practice.

Walking to School

Bear Essentials  Bear Essentials  Bear Essentials

During Hampshire County Council’s ‘Walking to School’ week, some Harrow Way students worked with the Pre-school encouraging the children to walk around the school grounds. Our students hung the pre-schoolers’ teddy bears around the perimeter hedges and then walked with them to help find their own bear. The children, big and small, thoroughly enjoyed working together! Students were then invited into the Pre-school where they were given the opportunity to play with the youngsters. Some of the Harrow Way students used to attend the Pre-school and were shown photos of themselves from years ago.

PresentationsHarrow Way’s Year 11 leavers raised money for the Pre-school. In a succesful fund-raising bid, equipment was bought and recently presented to Harrow Way’s successful early years group. Students purchased ‘Gelli Baff’, a messy play product that turns water into goo … and back again; binoculars; an outside blackboard and a big inflatable material ball.
